Camp Kimama. Be who you want to be…
“The freedom to be me” is a central value at Kimama, expressing the opportunity for self-fulfillment and for every participant to experiment in spheres that interest them.
It is important to us that every camper will be able to specialize in whichever area appeals to them, regardless of whether they have any previous experience

Music Track – Led by professional teachers and Israeli musicians
The music track is a specialized track that will be offered in conjunction with “Vocals”- network of schools for music and voice training. Participants in this track will meet musicians and leading professionals in related spheres, and activities will include master-classes with musicians Ohad Hitman and Nadav Karni (an X-Factor finalist), as well as with composer and producer Refael Ben-Or and musician Shuli Koren

A range of enriching and enlightening workshops developing skills including playing in an ensemble, stage presence, etc. The workshops will be adapted to the participants who register for the track, and will include practice in harmony, playing instruments, composing, working on new songs, and learning Israeli songs representing a range of different cultures. At the conclusion of the track, participants will perform for the entire camp.

Program Outline

1st Meeting The first meeting will begin together, play games and get to know each other. Then, split into groups according to skills in music: vocal, instruments …

2nd Meeting We’ll start the meeting with a joint workshop of the whole group (the order of the workshops topic will be determined later). Then, split into working groups and start working on selecting the music for the “musical”

3rd Meeting We’ll start the meeting with a workshop of the whole group. Then, we will have rehearsals for the “musical”

4th Meeting In this meeting we will Learn about standing on a stage, light and shadow and improvisation. Then split into groups and will continue rehearsals for the “musical”

5th Meeting In this meeting, we will have a rehearsal of the musical. Also, we will have a farewell activity in which each participant will be able to share his experiance. After the meeting, campers will get a certificate signed by the program director and Kimama.

Track Director – Shuli Koren
The track will be directed by Shuli Koren, who holds an M.A. from the Tel Aviv University Music Academy and a teachers’ diploma in music instruction. She has produced and participated in major projects, including production and musical direction of the official Rememberance Day ceremony at the Sultan’s Pool in Jerusalem, and others. She is a singer, performer, and vocal trainer who works with artists including Shlomi Shabbat, Miri Mesika, Omer Adam, Idan Yaniv, Sarit Avitan and others. Shuli is the voice instructor for “Proyekt HaLehaka”, a program on the Israeli TV children’s channel, and is director of the Vocals school for music and voice training.


Raphael Ben-Or

Refael Ben-Or is a singer, songwriter, composer and arranger. He teaches voice, acoustic guitar, flamenco guitar, and piano at the Vocals schools, and has extensive experience with groups and bands.

The Experience

Camp Kimama
Camp Kimama is the first and the largest international summer camp held in Israel, with thousands of participants each year, ages 7-17, from 40 different countries from around the world. Kimama also has different trips throughout the year.
