Summer camp in Barcelona and the Pyrenees

‘Kimama Barcelona’ is back for another summer.

The camp is located on the Kimama site in the Pyrenees, among lakes and streams, looking out over the region’s breath-taking scenery. We hand-picked the site, and will have full use of it throughout the camp. Ten days jam-packed with great experiences.

Each day will be full of fun and adventurous activities (rafting on the river, bike trails, abseiling, high ropes and more), and every evening we will come back to the hotel for more social and educational activities with Kimama’s experienced staff. Just like our summer camps in Israel, in Kimama camps across the world, we will make sure that our values and favorite traditions remain an integral part of the camp experience. So campers will be happy to hear that at Kimama Barcelona there will be songs, cheering competitions, Kimama dancing, a banquet, festive Kabbalat Shabbat, and all the other activities you know and love.

The camp starts with a 2-day trip to Barcelona, where we will explore the city, learn about its tradition and culture, and soak in the atmosphere. And of course, we will do the mandatory tour of the famous football stadium (Camp-Nou).

Please remember that the price shown includes flight from/to Israel. If you’re not residing in Israel, please contact the office and we will tell you about the price of camp alone and all of the options and possibilities.

Camp Activities

In Kimama, we believe that the best things about camp are actually those who aren’t in the schedule. There’s something about the camp, the program, which forms those special bonds and connections, and develops a sense of capability and independence. In Kimama, we put a lot of emphasis on creating the type of framework to enable it.

The program in Kimama Barcelona is jam-packed with activities around the clock. These activities serve as the basis, to which we add the Kimama-style content, filled with fun and values. We believe that using songs, games, and competition, we can make every activity better and more complete for the campers. That said, here are some of the things we will do in camp:

*Rafting and Kayaks
*Zip-lining over a lake
*Ropes Park
*Hiking through stunning mountain scenery (Extremely light)
*Via Ferrata
*Tour in Barcelona
*Beach activities
*Camp Nou Tour (Football stadium)
*Shopping time

And many more

Camp Facilities

Our home at Kimama Barcelona is a fantastic hotel located in a scenic spot at the heart of the Pyrenees, between mountains and rivers. We hand-picked the site from a number of options, since it has all of the conditions and facilities to be our home for the week. The site has a swimming pool, basketball court and beach volleyball pitch for the campers to enjoy, as well as a dining room and conference hall for the various activities.

Likewise, the camp is located a short drive from many of the region’s attractions, so we will not end up wasting precious time travelling. The camp will be reserved for Kimama campers only. Bedrooms are air-conditioned with in suite toilets and showers. There will be 3-5 campers in each room.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the price include?
Everything! Flights, transfers, 8 nights full-board, youth leaders accompanying the group, professional guides, day trips, attractions and activities, educational programming and Kimama activities.

So what will we be doing there?
Activities for kids will run from morning to evening. The program includes educational and adventure activities (suitable for all), as well as the usual Kimama activities (dancing, competitions, cheering, Kabbalat Shabbat, banquet, etc.) In addition to all of this, there will be a two-day trip to Barcelona for all campers.

Is this an adventure camp?
We wouldn’t necessary call it that, even though some of the activities could be considered ‘adventure activities’. We have selected activities which will be suitable for all, to take full advantage of the region we will be staying in, as well as its nature and scenery. Adventure lovers or not, we are sure that all of the campers will enjoy activities such as rafting and high ropes.

Will guiding be in Hebrew or English?
Just as at our ski camps, Kimama youth leaders will accompany us on the trip. Local guides will join us for specific activities and trips. As always at Kimama, the youth leaders will translate and help the campers to understand.

Is Kimama Barcelona suitable for all ages?
Yes, the camp is suitable for children and young adults of all ages, from 7-17, and they will be divided into groups according to their age.

Who will I share a room with?
The rooms will be divided according to age group. If you have requested to stay with a friend from home, we will accommodate this request. Boys and girls will sleep separately. The Kimama team will sleep in rooms nearby, for the safety and comfort of the children. Each room has an in suite toilet and shower, and meets a high standard.

Should I give my child spending money?
We recommend giving them around €150 ‘spending money’, to use at the airport, on trip days, for tuck, souvenirs, etc. We do not recommend giving them much more or much less, so they will not feel left out. On the other hand, please refrain from bringing expensive equipment to the camp. The camp management cannot be held responsible for lost items.

Is it worth it?
Wow, yes! It’s going to be a fantastic camp. We’re already excited, and that’s just from planning it.
