My granddaughter, Geffen, was a camper at Kimama Carmel this past Summer. This was my granddaughter’s first experience in Israel since she left with her family for relocation 4 years ago to the United States. Gefen was in the Dog Training track, and the relationship she developed with the dog helped her express her warmth and kindness that she has in her. The experiences she had in Kimama were empowering and educational. She was able to meet other Israeli girls as well as make friends from all over the world that are her age. Gefen was introduced to Israeli culture and dynamics, and after a couple days – she took action and caught on with full speed. I visited the camp on visitor’s day and I was very impressed by how active and inspiring the staff and children seemed to be. I hope that Gefen will spend next summer at Kimama again and maybe this time her younger brother will join her. Thank you to all of Kimama’s Staff. Keep up the good work!
Our daughter, Neomi, attended Camp Kimama Carmel for the first time this summer (2014). We fell in love on the spot: these really are the most fun people to be around, they have the exact type of counselors we wished for our daughter, and we were able to meet the great friends Neomi made in camp (she will definitely keep in touch with them long after camp has ended). There is no doubt that these two-weeks were the most successful summer vacation that both Neomi and our family ever had. It is obvious that we will be signing her up for next summer, maybe even for two sessions.
My daughter, Amelia, attended the 2 weeks’ summer Kimama camp for the first time in August 2012 when she was 11. She absolutely fell in love with Kimama, she is now keen to attend every year and achieve her dream to become a Kimama Camp Counselor. Amelia has no connection to Israel as such, she doesn’t go to Jewish school and does not speak Hebrew, so her visits to Kimama means so much to her (and of course me!). She made new friends in Israel and is now eager to learn Hebrew and talks about living in Israel.
I just wanted to add the parents’ perspective to the fantastic work that Kimama is doing. I just wish there was Kimama for parents- I’ll go!
Analiese’s Kimama experiences are some of the richest in her young adult life and we are so thankful to have found this special place! This was our first year using your transportation services to/from the airport and it was flawless and reassuring for us as well as comfortable every step of the way for her. We always appreciate your frequent communications and the gorgeous daily photos and videos! Analiese has been to Kimama in Michmoret for 6 years now and every summer when she returns to NYC she declares it the best ever–whether she knew other kids in advance or not. Her friendships around the world multiply every year because of Kimama and we know they are now true friends for life. Thanks to you and to ALL the Kimama Staff for everything you all do. You make such a difference in the lives of our kids — this summer (2014) in particular (IDF going into Gaza- Operation Protective Edge) — and all of those whom they touch in turn. Your determination to provide a meaningful and fun experience, no matter what is going on in the world, is powerful and important for us all. There is no place I’d rather have her in the summer than in your safe arms!
My son, Horia, attended the 2 weeks’ summer Kimama camp for the first time in July 2014 at age (almost) 11. He was in Dog training track because he loves them so much.
The Kimama experience was the most wonderful thing that happened to us until now. My son enjoyed it so much that after the first hug in the airport he asked when is gonna be the next meeting with everything that Kimama camp mean. Now he is “living” from memories and photos and wondering everyday what Sheleg (his dog to be trained) is doing! Unfortunately, adopting Sheleg
